Where do we start? Well first, thanks for checking out our site. We have a passion for overlanding, camping & gear, wrenching on the Tacoma, and overall finding creative problems to solutions. The goal of the site is to document all of the work, adventures, and overall journey we have building this truck. My name is Joe, and I live in Colorado. I have always enjoyed being outdoors mountain biking, hiking, snowboarding, camping, etc. A couple of years back I discovered van life and fell in love with the idea of building out my own van to travel and work from. Having a background in working on cars, designing software, and woodworking it felt like a natural fit.

So why do I not have a van? Well, it’s mostly due to the fact that I wanted a vehicle that could work as an adventure rig and a daily driver. Most van life builds are typically for those that live and adventure full time. Deciding that I wanted something capable of doing both, I started looking around, and the truck that came up time and time again was the Toyota Tacoma. Finding channels like Tacomabeast, Runnin4Tacos, Last Line of Defense, Overland Eats, Jason Koertge, Maxx Powell, Justin B McBride, Bustabeatgeorge, Expedition Overland, SeekOutBeauty, Living The Van Life, and many more Youtube and Instagram channels led me to my current addition of always finding that right setup to get to places others do not go. Being able to go deep into the wilderness where the stresses of everyday life is something that is a blessing and a privilege. Not everyone gets the chance to do that. That alone is very humbling and important to know just how lucky I am to be able to follow my passion.
